Top tip: Using unique colours

Top tip: Using unique colours

There’re various different ways to make use of lesser used colours but it’s a good idea to understand the ways colour works in a room before you dive in there and start mixing everything up! You should always look at the relationship colours have between each other and think about how light and dark interacts in a room.

Be inspired by white, remember some colours work similarly and can be used to open up walls and reflect natural light. If the colours you're going for are maybe a little on the darker side, consider adding mirrors and shiny reflective surfaces, if not bursts of lighter colours to reflect natural light keep a space feeling open and airy!

We love sticking a large reflective decorative mirror right in the middle of rooms; it almost acts as a second window and allows double the light, it’s especially great in large or narrow spaces! Surround the mirror with unique colours to get even more out of it.

When using dark colours that you want to show off, try and surround them with other lighter colours to make them stand out so people can appreciate how unique they are. Try to balance the same colour in various shades with itself to unite different hues across a room and really bring your style together! Another great way to make use of colour is to use small hints of it in patterns or trinkets across the room.
