Left it to the last minute to finish your Christmas decorations? Even if you've already got some decorating done, sometimes a last minute Christmas updo is just what you need to add extra festive life to any space. We've gathered 3 ways you can spruce up your house quickly and cheaply so it'll be all perfect for a comfy Christmas tomorrow.
- Add some charming Christmas colour
Having Santa shaped knick knacks is good and all but does that really screams Christmas when you look at a room? Skip the cheesy details and focus on the colours. Handy if you don't have any Christmas themed decor knocking around, make use of greens, reds and whites to trick the brain into being reminded of Christmas when they look around. If you have a ‘festive' coloured sofa, now's the time to hero it and make it stand out; remove other bright colours from the room so eyes will be drawn towards the sofa instead. If not, add as many festive red shawls and green plants as fits and stand back and admire the view! - Introduce plant life
Plants are surprisingly Christmassy, maybe it's the colours, or maybe it's the unstructured Christmas tree and holly vibes. Either way, introducing plant life into your room is a great way to make it feel more like Christmas. The most likely plants you have on hand are potted, but don't think you're limited to real plants. Anything mimicking a plant, such as leaves, pinecones or even bunches of grass- can be used to invite a Christmas feel for none of the cost of the real thing. - Make use of toys
We all know the Christmas tradition of giving presents and toys to children. Hence (and stay with me here) the ideas of Christmas and toys are linked in our minds. If you have spare toys leftover from last Christmas, they can work amazingly well strategically dotted around the house to remind of warm childhood Christmas memories.
