Do you ever look at another persons home or style and wonder how they achieved that interior look? Well today we are going to help you make that look by showing you how to create a vision board. A vision board is often used as a manifestation tool to reach life goals and set intentions. However, whether manifestation is for you or not, the ideology remains the same. The reason vision boards work, is because you can visually start to see the stepping stones of what you desire.
What is a vision board?
A vision board, also known as a dream board or inspiration board, consists of images, quotes, notes to self or fabrics that create a powerful picture, narrowing down your desires to create a clear vision. Whether you prefer a digital or physical board, both are fun to make and you can get especially creative with a physical board.Â
How to make a vision board:
The Canvas - Firstly find a canvas or pin board that is right for you, or use apps such as Canva or photoshop if you wish to create a digital vision board.
The Content – Got loads of magazines you were planning on throwing away? Keep hold of those for a little longer, they will be your main source of inspiration! Other places such as Pinterest and Instagram are great to screenshot or print out to add to your boards.
The Structure - There is no right or wrong way of picking your images, but a structure can definitely help. With an interior board, you may want to section the board into different rooms in your home, or perhaps various home interior styles. Grouping by colour is a great start, you usually figure out what your go-to colour palettes are for your home quickly by doing this. Once you have collated all your most loved images, it's time to pin!
The Pinning - Start pinning all your inspirational content to the board - play around with angles, directions and spacing! Examples could be laying text down the side of the board rather than frontal, overlapping images or mixing up images, fabric and text. The main thing is to have fun with it, it’s an exciting productive task that really elevates your mind and feelings towards a new year or goal.
