3 Ways to Make Use of Under Stair Space

3 Ways to Make Use of Under Stair Space

Out of sight out of mind? Not quite. The space underneath stairs is great, if you’re thinking of converting into a little nook for relaxation or just somewhere to store all that stuff. There’re some really inventive ways to use that dead space- which would best fit in your house?

  1. Mini Office
Studies have shown we need a separate area for work than we do for play, but it can be difficult to find the right one, especially if you’re tight on space and you can’t afford to steal an entire room! Fitting a little desk and chair against the wall under the staircase is an amazing trick to turn off the distractions when you need to get down to it. Not having anything moving in front of you is perfect for being able to actually concentrate on what you’re doing, if you need a space to work, try it and thank us later!
  2. Storage with a twist
The corner under the staircase is perfect for adding shelves and chests, but the whole area doesn’t have to be written off. Adding a comfy chair or a beanbag is perfect for those long dark nights you just want to curl up with a mug of tea and a good book. We feel that vibe, fairy lights are a fantastic way to add more atmosphere to that special space.
  3. Relaxation Station
They say you can never have enough fluff, and we agree! Fitting a small sofa under the stairs is one way to make sure you’ll have space to calm down after the stress of the day. Our tips? Go to town on cushions and softness and lie back, relax and breathe!
