How to avoid tackiness when using bold prints
Every home and even every room has a special style

Every home and even every room has a special style. Using bold prints, whether on fabric, walls or floors is the ultimate statement for a room; however, there are a few things that just don't work, unless you're someone's aunt Deborah of course. Although it may be difficult to choose just one pattern that you love for your room, mixing bold print designs is a surefire recipe for disaster and will almost always end in chequered jungle print tears. If you're going to have patterned wallpaper stick with block colours on cushions and fabrics (unless of course you're matching) and do the same with the walls and floor if you've just bought some lovely fancy cushions. Although it may seem tempting to mix and match some pretty wallpapers on different walls, just don't. The clash of two titans like this is the definition of tacky.

Keep in mind that bold prints don't always have to be glaringly out there, they can still do their job adding some personality and charm to a room using soft or light colours. One of the most important things to consider when picking prints is if they fit in well with the style and character of the rest of the room, even if you pick the tamest print ever to grace Gok Wan's earth it'll still stick out like a sore thumb if it's not riding the same train as everything else!
