Whether your theme is designed around a colour palette or not, having a selection of colours will help when designing your Christmas theme. It becomes easier as you are making selections for your decorations. The finished result is a design that looks well-thought-out and cohesive.
Allow One Item to Inspire Your Theme We often find one decoration or item that really inspires us and pulls a theme together. Maybe you're out shopping and you find a gorgeous crystal reindeer, a magical star for the tree or a a beautiful ice garland for the fireplace. Allow yourself to be inspired by one item and see what you already have in your Christmas decorations that would fit in with that.
Consider What You Already Have
We know that most of you won’t want to buy new ornaments every year, so we recommend looking at the decorations you already have with new eyes. When you take the time to sort through and organise your Christmas decorations in a way that you have not before it allows you to consider using those decorations in a new way! Pull everything out and organise it by type of decoration or colour. Then you will be able to see what you have to work with and know if there are any additional things you can purchase to fill any gaps.
