Picking the perfect home is never easy, and although having a good bathroom is definitely something to think about, it’s often one of the last things on the list. It’s important to add your own touch to any bathroom, especially to those with the standard white and plain look. If you don’t want to spend a fortune redoing the entire thing, don’t worry, you don’t have to.

The easiest way to jazz up a boring bathroom is to change the bath. Swapping out the shape or colour can be costly, but getting a new shower curtain or partition is a lot kinder on the old wallet, not to mention there are a lot more options to express yourself. If the rest of the room is looking a bit plain, go for bright and loud patterns- but if you’re trying to tone down that ugly pink the previous owners kindly left for you, go for a more subtle or calming pattern. Make sure that you don’t block any natural light, if your bathroom has any.

No shower? No worries, opt for a colourful back wall instead, and go for mild and light colours throughout the rest of the room. Don’t be afraid to invest in a snazzy towel- cheap, practical and completely removable, a well placed towel can do wonders to the white bathroom look. Don’t forget to involve plants! Even if you’re not the best at remembering to water, the bathroom is one of the easiest rooms to grow certain types of plants in as the air is often full of moisture which can help to keep the plant going.
