CALM COLOURS

To create a serene ambience in your bathroom, use a palette of neutral tones for the basis of your decorating scheme. Combine fresh white with some warmer hues, such as coral, cream or earthy stone. You can then bring in colourful accents with accessories, such as candles and diffusers.

SOOTHE WITH SCENT

Yes, your bubble bath and bath oils will provide a gorgeous fragrance in your bathroom, but how about ensuring there's a lovely smell each time you enter the room? Position a diffuser on a surface, and choose a scent that feels fresh, relaxing and not overpowering. Natural scents like rosemary, geranium and lavender are a good choice for any bathroom.

MAKE BATHING EASY

If you want to relax and be undisturbed in your bathroom, it's a good idea to have everything you need to hand. Invest in a bath rack that hooks over your tub, so you can keep all your toiletries and accessories within easy grasp. Some wooden racks even have specialised engraving to position your phone or iPad  so you can enjoy an episode of your favourite series while soaking in the bath. 

GO GREEN

Instantly make your room feel relaxing by popping in some house plants. The foliage will add some natural warmth and texture, and the oxygen they let out will provide a healthy, pampering environment. Plants that do well in bathrooms include aloe vera and spider plants, or opt for some faux flowers if you'd prefer to get the look without the hassle!
