2022 will mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee – a celebration of 70 years in service as Britain's monarch. This will become the first British royal in history to reach this milestone. It is quite the occasion, and to celebrate, our beloved Queen has given us a 4-day weekend! Something like this doesn't happen often, so we take any opportunity to grasp these extra 2 days off and get our diaries booked up to the max. Here's 3 things to try this bank holiday weekend...
Bake A Jubilee Pudding
If you haven't heard, this pudding is circling the internet and it looks delicious. If you're looking for the perfect jubilee desert to serve your neighbours, this is the one to bake. It's got to be worth a try! Here's the recipe: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lemon_swiss_roll_and_42467
Host A Jubilee Street Party
We all know Brits love to celebrate the Queen and its become tradition to organise a street party in Her Majesty's honour! After two years of being separated from family and friends, we're all more than ready for another neighbourhood knees-up – but how do you plan a street party? While it's helpful if one person takes charge, the idea behind a street party is that the whole road is involved in the planning and organising, to bring the community together.
Watch The Beacon Lighting
The Beacon is one of thousands being lit in the UK and the Commonwealth, and forms part of the official programme announced by Buckingham Palace for the Jubilee Weekend. Why not watch the Beacon being lit at Vounog Hill, Penyffordd, on the evening of Thursday 2nd June.
