Whether you're redoing a single room, or an entire house, it's important to make a plan- and to stick to it! Not only is this an easy way to keep to a budget, but it's a mustto see how big changes might look together in a space. The easiest way to do this is with a sketch, but lists can work just as well- or a combination of the two!
To start a good sketch, first draw the basic structure of your room- walls, archways, fixed fireplaces or other fixed furniture pieces. Then, draw in the layout of large furniture, keeping in mind the best way to make the space flow. You can then add colour, art and smaller pieces of furniture to complete the design. Sometimes it's easier to have multiple versions of the same plan, and pick which design you like best. Don't be afraid to experiment with your plan, any design is possible!
It's important to list all the things you need to do before you get to renovating, this could include everything that needs buying, changing, moving or scrapping. Tick these off as you do them for extra organisation points, and don't forget to celebrate in your new surroundings when it's all done!
